The study is on the growth of industrial entrepreneurship with special reference to the growth of entrepreneurship in selected bank financed engineering industries in Bangladesh during the period 1973 to 1990. The study postulates that the growth of industrial entrepreneurship in any country depends on a plethora of conditions, some of which are political, some of which are social and most of which are economic. But the most important point is that the conditions must be conducive to the growth of industrial entrepreneurship. The study, therefore, seeks first of all to explore and identify the plethora of conditions that have impact upon this growth. It then hypothesizes that many of the conditions which constitute the environment for the growth of industrial entrepreneurship in Bangladesh are still unfavorable, although monetary and fiscal policies of the country are said to have been brought in line with the requirements of entrepreneurship growth.
